Non-Anonymous Surveys

Stratification for Web Clients works the same way as stratification for NIPO CATI using a Sample table. Note that if you use stratification on input (stratification group already known before starting an interview), the address will be blocked if a stratification cell is filled, which means that the respondent immediately gets a relocation page.

Stratification on non-anonymous surveys may result in the following:

  1. A respondent is invited for a survey by mail.
  2. The respondent clicks the link for the survey.
  3. The link immediately redirects to the stratification-reached page, the page that can inform the respondent that their participation is no longer required.

Because of this consequence, stratification on non-anonymous surveys is not recommended.

Stratification on output may also be used: Each contact will update the existing record for that respondent in the Sample table. Use the *SAMPLEDATA or *ADDRESS command in the NIPO ODIN questionnaire to fill database fields and the *STRAT command to check your stratification cells and then jump to a specific question.

Note:
Do not use the *SQLPUT command to update your sample table, as the system will not 'recognize' the sample record is changed and thus can not check the stratification cell.
