Grid Filtering

A filter is a very powerful feature of the grids to view, search and select data contained within a grid. A filter can be a simple as a search for a particular value, and as complex as a compound of conditions to lead to a subset of the currently viewed data set. Here are just a few of many examples in which a filter may be used within Nfield Code:

  • To select respondents or open-ended answers on the basis of a translation
  • To create overviews of questions or open-ended answers that have been bookmarked, or marked as partially coded
  • To view only questions or answers of a particular type, for example audio recordings
  • To view which answers have been coded by a particular coder
  • To view which answers have been entered by a particular interviewer

As a filter can be a compound of evaluations, combinations of the above are within the possibilities.

Note that filters dramatically influence the data listed in the grid. At all times, the expression for the currently active filter is displayed at the bottom of the grid:
