What You Should Already Know
A number of assumptions are made about you as the reader of this manual. You should be familiar with:
- The deployment of networked software packages within a business network environment.
- Network configurations, protocols and security, in particular with regard to the LAN, DMZ and firewalls.
- The configuration and maintenance of MS SQL Server databases.
- The configuration and maintenance of web servers such as Apache Tomcat and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
- Starting, stopping and configuring Microsoft Windows services.
- Editing configuration files and registry keys.
- Editing batch files for automated execution.
Knowledge of or experience with quantitative market research applications is not a requirement, but will help to better understand the concepts of this document.
