Configuring Read-only Fields

In NIPO FMS, you can also configure which fields in the NIPO Fieldwork System database should be read-only for certain profiles. This can be useful if you would like to deny certain user groups the rights to edit certain values.

Note:
Read-only fields can only be configured for profiles, not for individual users.

To set specific fields to read-only for a profile

  1. Select Configure > Permissions… from the menu.
  2. Click Configure Read-Only Fields… A dialog appears:

    Embedded PNG Image Template (Styled)
  3. In the top-left corner, specify the Profile that you want to edit. Choose [ALL_PROFILES] if you want to apply the changes to all profiles.
  4. Below the profile, select the Table for which you want to set fields to read-only.
  5. In the list on the right the fields of the selected table appear. Mark the fields you wish to set to read-only for this profile.
  6. Click Close after making the changes.

To the left are three boxes that contain information concerning the currently selected table and profile.
