Stratification file (S-file) when using Sample table
In case a Sample table is used instead of a T-file, the stratification can refer to the table's field names.
Example of a Survey stratification file when using Sample table
Region : 1 (100) North Region : 2 (100) East Region : 3 (100) South Region : 4 (100) West Gender : 1 (200) Males Gender : 2 (200) Females Age : 1 (100) 18 - 34 years Age : 2 (100) 35 - 44 years Age : 3 (100) 45 - 54 years Age : 4 (100) 55 years or older GenderAge : 11 (055) Males - 18 - 34 years GenderAge : 12 (055) Males - 35 - 44 years GenderAge : 13 (055) Males - 45 - 54 years GenderAge : 14 (055) Males - 55 years or older GenderAge : 21 (055) Females - 18 - 34 years GenderAge : 22 (055) Females - 35 - 44 years GenderAge : 23 (055) Females - 45 - 54 years GenderAge : 24 (055) Females - 55 years or older
Explanation
- For each region maximum 100 interviews should be done.
- 200 males and 200 females should be interviewed.
- For each age category we need 100 interviews.
- In the combination of age and gender the targets do not add up to 100. This means that we do not need exactly 50 males of 18-34 and 50 females of 18-34, but accept that there can be 55 males of 18-34 and only 45 females of 18-34. The quota for 200 females will force that these females are compensated in another age category.
Note: Combinations of fields have to be created by combining the strings in a new field. It is not (yet) possible to create expressions.
