System administrator requirements
Before installation of the components, ensure you have the following privileges:
- Administrative privileges on any workstation where software must be installed
- Permissions to create and modify file shares on the network
- Permissions to modify firewall settings
In addition you should have a reasonable understanding of and experience with the following tasks:
- Editing
INI configuration files - Editing
XML files - Editing the system registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER levels - Setting up application shortcuts
- Configuring of company firewalls and the DMZ
- Managing MS SQL database servers and databases
- Configuring domains and network file sharing
- Setting up domain users and their privileges
- Reviewing event log messages
