Selecting Open-Ended Answers to Code

This is a good time to consider what your preferred method of coding open-ended answers is. Since Nfield Code allows you to review open-ended answers on the basis of both simple and elaborate selections, virtually any preferred working method is possible. For example, you can choose to

• Review or code all open-ended answers of a particular question
• Review or code all open-ended answers of a one or more respondents
• Review or code open-ended answers based on various aspects of their state (bookmarked, partially coded, coded by a particular coder)

To start coding a set of open-ended answers

1. Start by selecting your working base in the project overviews.
2. On any of the overviews click Start Coding or click on the toolbar.
