Configuring the Borland Socket Server

The Borland Socket Server accepts incoming TCP/IP connections from the NIPO FMS Clients and translates these into local DCOM requests. To do so it requires a port number and a number of additional configuration settings.

The NIPO Fieldwork System installer takes care of installing and configuring the Borland Socket Server for use. Note that if the configured port changes, the NIPO FMS Clients that have previously connected also need their port settings changed.

For port number, avoid the frequently used system ports (1-1024).
